Walking safaris in Africa, especially Tanzania is a fun - involves traveling with your camp equipment, your guide and a cook in your vehicle with you. A small temporary camp for a night under the stars in a remote part of the bush is set, the ideal and to a day's walking safari - with comforts - washing water, hurricane lamps, drinking water and delicious food cooked on the open fire. A walk through the Savannah-African bush is a wonderful way to experience Tanzania intimately. Smells and sounds become distinct, varied, smaller and bigger creatures gain significance.

Our land is truly shared between humans and animals, and all our adventurous walk programs we organize are accompanied by experienced guides and sometimes with Game Rangers.  At night, the sensation of sleeping in a light tent or just under a mosquito net, as the stars or the moon shines down and the noises of the African nights begin, is the highlight of any Tanzania safari holiday. Your camp will move with you each day. Setting off in the cool early morning, starts your walk, picnic and rest during the heat of the day, only to meet up with your camp in the late evening. Equipment are packed up and transported to the next location by different methods, pick up trucks, on donkeys or Porters, while you walk for several days, traveling like nomads across the African bush often miles from the tracks and roads.

On the last day of your hiking expedition you will leave the area aware of the overwhelming beauty, because every morning during your stay, whichever hiking route you choose, you will be with our experienced trained Crews. Most of our visitors always leave the area feeling that they have made new friends and are convinced that there are many positive and interesting aspects to rural TANZANIA.
The area is a home to an astonishing number of plants, a wide range of birds, reptiles and mammals. Some baobab indigenous plants occur on the slopes of Ngorongoro Highland - nowhere else on earth do they occur naturally regardless of the highland remains a remarkable natural and recreational asset. You will find a wide range of grazers and primates is seen on most drives and walks, among them giraffes, buffalo, warthog, wildebeests, zebras, Velvet monkeys, and at times Leopards in early mornings.   Due to the absence of dangerous animals, guided foot (walking) safaris of up to 7/10 days are possible, which provide a welcome change to the confinement of a car.

There are two safari choices if you want to be taken to OL DOINYO LENGAI and to the nearby SODA LAKE NATRON: -

1.        A walking safari which takes 7 days 6 nights from the Crater rim of the Ngorongoro Crater is an exciting experience - as it realizes the unknown presence around you is highlighted by wild animals and birds. You gain a greater appreciation of the environment.

2.        A driving safari which takes 4 days 3 nights from Moshi town to the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai through Mto wa Mbu and  Mangie Camp.

Early morning of the first day you will be driven from Moshi Town through Lake Manyara's MTO WA MBU small town to either PARAMA CAMP / SELELA CAMP OR MANGIE VILLAGE CAMPING SITE which are very near to Maasai Boma in a 4WD motor vehicle. The 2nd day we will drive you to Engaresero village through Engaruka village for dinner and overnight very near to the volcanic Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai, and soda lake famous for its large population of flamingo, LAKE NATRON a beautiful base for one-day trek to the active volcano of Ol Donyo Lengai.

The challenging ascent to the Crater of Ol Doinyo Lengai, the only active carbonate volcano in the World, passes through some fine / fantastic scenery and a good view of the Rift Valley. The track to the top of Lengai is very steep and true challenges attempted only by trekkers with a good level of fitness. Ol Doinyo Lengai makes a thrilling overnight trek-its summit remains a gently active, molten ash is visible from its peak and the view is constant. IF THAT MOMENT CAN BE CAPTURED, ENCAPSULATED, PRESERVED FOR ALL TIME - IT WOULD BE YOUR EPITOME OF "HEAVEN". Most people believe that climbing and reaching the summit of the active volcanic OL DOINYO LENGAI MOUNTAIN "The Mountain of the Gods" one gets a super natural power from the spirits. Frankly speaking, it is interesting being on top of the Mountain of the Gods.
Ø        The volcanic lava is real.
Ø        The Crater rim is amazing.
Ø        The sun rise from the east is amazing.
Ø        Light forested folded fan -slopes, to the north east an unbroken carpet of blue and pink colour of Lake Natron full of Flamingos.
Ø        To the east, you will be able to see Mount Meru through the ragged remnants of windswept clouds.
Ø        Both sides, you will view the morning sunlit plains, Emberesero village and the Campsite lying like a toy.
Ø        Underfoot, you will hear thin cries of small animals like Mongoose, hare and Hyrax searching for prey.

After a breathtaking, a pack of biscuits / chocolates and a good pull of water will brace for the inevitable descent which retraces your route up. The descent is, as always, adventurous   and hard on the knees and at times your toes might cram up into the front of your boot.

Walks towards Ol Donyo Lengai - Lake Natron may be for almost any length of time, a few hours or a full day with a picnic lunch. This mountain is called "THE MOUNTAIN OF THE GODS' " by the local people-Maasai.
